Heyya! My name is Dinaz Yezaad Surti and this is my story. I'm a crazy dog lover.
So much so that my passion made me adopt a street dog. That's how Marley
came into my life. With her I found out what unconditional love is. She stayed with
us for nine years and had become more than family. I was devasted when she left
us to go to her "doggie world" in the Beyond. After which I got my Hazel home.
I used to got and meet her mom on a regular basis and since we were all in the
lockdown phase the people who used to feed them left leaving them hungry. On
passing by that lane one day I saw her Mother and 2 pups (who were left there on
the streets) eating out of the garbage.
That is when I decided to take my passion to the next level. I decided to become a
stray dog feeder. That was the start of my journey on this selfless road trip.
By profession I am a pre-primary teacher at The J. B. Petit High School For Girls.
Some how I got a calling from God. Like an intuition to do this.
My feeding process starts at 4 p.m. and it takes me a good 1 hour to feed my
babies. I give them food and even wash their bowls and ensure that they have
clean water to drink. My area ranges from Dadar to Matunga stations.
I have 40+ dogs and 20+ cats and not to forget our winged friends too...
At the end of the day the joy that u derive out of this is heartwarming
I would like to encourage people who can go out of their way and fill up their
hungry bellies of these voiceless friends. Or one can even donate in cash or kind
so that someone like me can do the needful even in these troubled times.
