YOUNGSTERS IN IPL 2O2O

The Indian Premier League has always been synonymous with young players who are on the fringes of their state team or the Indian team to showcase their talent and in turn make a name for themselves and make a case for their selection in the state and national team.
The IPL has been a place where many Indian as well as foreign youngsters have performed exceptionally well and in turn become superstars for their national teams. When you think about youngsters performing well you go back to 2008 where Shaun Marsh and Shane Watson, then youngsters played brilliantly well to make a name for themselves and then go onto play for Australia, when you think about an Indian youngster the first name that comes to mind is Manish Pandey, he was in fact the first Indian to score a 100 in the IPL. Since then many youngsters like Shubhman Gill, Ambati Rayudu, Kuldeep Yadav and Rashid Khan to name a few, have made a reputation for themselves. 
This article is focused on the top youngsters who have performed well in IPL 2020.
 
  1. Devdutt Padikkal
Devdutt Padikkal a 20 year old boy who plays his domestic cricket for Karnataka, has not only been phenomenal in the IPL but has performed and scored heavily for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy as well as other domestic tournaments. 
In List A games he has scored 650 runs in 15 matches at an impressive average of 59.09 and in domestic T20s he has scored 823 runs at an average of 51.43 in just 19 matches at a very good strike rate of 157.66.
His talent was never in question but the way he has handled the pressure of IPL and played he has been the best youngster on display so far.
Since the departure of Chris Gayle from the RCB squad they had been looking for a stable opener and Padikkal has just been the right player for them and certainly turned the fortunes of RCB this year.
 
  1. Ravi Bishnoi
 
When Ravi Bishnoi was picked up by Kings XI Punjab for INR 2 Crore, many would have wondered about him and some would question his worth, with the season of Kings having panned out the way it has Ravi Bishnoi has been the main shining light in the bowling department as they have lost many matches in a row their bowlers have taken a beating in their confidence but this man has been trying and has succeeded a lot. Although his number of wickets don't do justice for his actual bowling he has been simply superb against all teams.

Ravi Bishnoi first came in the limelight during the Under-19 World Cup held in South Africa, where he picked up 17 wickets in just 6 matches at an average of 10.34 and an economy rate of just 3.48 and a whooping strike rate of just 18.3. 
His performances have truly earned him a reputation now.
 
  1. Priyam Garg
 
Another under 19 player who was tipped to perform in the IPL 2020. Priyam Garg in the IPL 2020 has looked one of the most matured youngsters to take part, his numbers in batting haven't done justice to his talent and ability as he been sent in as the finisher for Sunrisers Hyderabad, he has been performing well finishing innings for SRH and also played the part of an anchor when his team needed him, his fielding has also been extremely good getting direct hits and running out batsmen, but above all his composure and maturity have been the standout feature about him. 
 
There are many youngsters who have been performing well this year like Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Chahar and Sam Curran to name a few but these three have been truly the standouts. 
IPL has truly been a platform where talent meets opportunity, which is the tagline of IPL and has truly lived up to it.
